Deflection play and combinations: availability and anticipation
Excellent exercise for working on layoff play, anticipation, and movement to offer solutions.
Mark out a field of 50m x 30m. Separate 3 zones in the width using 4 cones. Place 2 small goals. Form 2 teams (blue and red) of 6 players. Place 3 blue players (including 1 goalkeeper) and 1 red player in the zone where the goal that the blue team defends is located. Place 3 red players (including 1 goalkeeper) and 1 blue player in the zone where the goal that the red team defends is located. Place 2 blue players and 2 red players in the central zone.
A player from the middle can create an attacking overload after a pass from one of his teammates to a forward. The goalkeeper can only play the ball out in the zone of his attackers.
Ask your players to change pace on the pass and anticipate the layoffs and movements.
They must be very attentive to the tactical sense of the pass.
