Passing game work in a square with a central pivot
A very simple passing drill to set up, but with almost infinite variations. Ideal for soccer schools, it combines quality technique, game intelligence, and movement in tight spaces.
Mark out a 20x20m square and place 2 players in each corner. Then place a cone and a player in the center of the square, who will serve as the central pivot. The ball source is located in one of the 4 corners of the square.
The exercise proceeds as follows:
The drill starts with a short pass from player A to player B located to his right.
The latter will then play to the central player (C), who will make a one-touch playinto the path of A.
Player A then plays directly to the 4th player (D) located in the opposite corner. The pivot player stays in place, A stays in the corner where he made the pass, and B crosses the drill diagonally. The series repeats on the opposite side.
Variation: same exercise but the last pass is replaced by a one-two pass.
