About this cycle

This cycle focuses on the ability to press together to recover high on the field. The work focuses on coordinated press, the immediate reaction to loss, and the desire to prevent the opponent's build-up play. The sessions emphasize pressure around the ball carrier, recovery in the attacking zone, and quick forward run after recovery. The objective is to establish a collective pressing reflex to quickly regain the ball and create danger near the opponent's goal.

Cycle objectives

  1. Press together immediately after losing the ball.
  2. Win the ball high up in the opponent's half.
  3. Prevent the build-up play with a coordinated press.
  4. Create chances quickly after recovery.
