About this cycle

This cycle focuses on the immediate reaction to loss to quickly recover the ball. The work emphasizes collective intensity around the ball carrier, immediate pressure, coordination of counter-pressing, and rapid defensive transition. The sessions teach how to tighten around the ball, press together, and turn a loss into recovery before the opponent can reposition. The objective is to prevent any opponent build-up after the loss.

Cycle objectives

  1. React immediately to losing the ball.
  2. Apply collective pressure on the ball carrier.
  3. Recover quickly after losing possession.
  4. Prevent the opponent from organizing during the build-up play.
