Mark out a field of 30m x 40m. Form 3 teams of 6 players. Place 2 teams within the marked field. The players of the 3rd team are positioned outside the field and play as neutral support players.
The team in possession of the ball must make 3 consecutive passes before playing with a neutral player.
The combination sequence with a neutral player is as follows:
- the first neutral player is allowed two touches to pass the ball to a second neutral player across the field.
- The latter must then lay off the ball with one touch to a player from the team that was in possession of the ball.
Completing a full sequence equals one goal. The team that scores 2 goals stays on the field, while the other teams switch roles.
Two important tips to help you run your session:
- Emphasize the importance of staying focused during the game, especially for the support players.
- Remind your players to position their bodies correctly to make a quick and accurate pass.
