Place 4 cones to form a 15m x 15m square. Position a player at each cone and give a ball to each player.
In this first variation, the player receiving the pass must control the ball by directing it towards the next player and then make a short pass.
Here are some possible progressions for this very simple exercise to set up:
- Inside/outside control
- Use the strong/weak foot
- Pass behind/in front of the cone
- Take the place of the player to whom the pass was made.
- Change direction at your whistle.
Remind that information gathering and concentration are fundamental. Emphasize the importance of being on your toes dynamically, attacking the ball, and orienting your body towards the pass.
